Setting Up Custom User Notifications (Email/SMS/Push)

Modified on Fri, 23 May at 1:31 PM

Stay informed about your assets by setting up notifications in ARMOR. You can create alerts for individual assets or groups of assets based on site or tag filters.

1. Create a Notification from the Asset Overview

To set up a notification for a single asset, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Asset Overview page of the desired asset.
  2. Click the Create Notification button at the top of the page:

  1. This opens a notification form pre-filtered to only that asset.
  2. Configure your notification:
    • Name your notification.
    • Select an Event (e.g., "Alert Raised").
    • Choose the Alert Type (e.g., "ARMOR Power Disconnected").
    • Choose your notification methods (Email, SMS).
  3. Click Create Notification to save.

This type of notification is asset-specific and will only apply to this one device.

2. Create a Group Notification (Sites or Tags)

You can also create a group notification for multiple assets based on:

  • Asset Tags
  • Assets (one or multiple assets)
  • Sites (one or multiple Sites)

Access the "Manage Notifications" area by:

  • Click your username in the top right corner
  • Choose Manage Notifications

Option A: Filter by Asset Tags

  1. Open the notification creation page.
  2. Under Filter By, select Asset Tags.
  3. Add your desired tags. Example:
    • _geo_city: Decatur
    • _manufacturer: Kaivac
  4. Provide a Notification Name.
  5. Set the Event and Alert Type.
  6. Choose how you want to be notified (Email, SMS, etc.).
  7. Click Create Notification.

Use case: “Notify me if any Kaivac asset in Houston was moved off-site!

Option B: Filter by Assets or Sites

  1. Under Filter By, select Asset or Site.
  2. Choose one or more assets or sites (e.g., ACME Service Depot).
  3. Enter a Notification Name.
  4. Configure the Event, Alert Type, and notification methods.
  5. Click Create Notification.

This is useful for managing all assets within a specific service depot or facility.

  • SMS – Sends a text message alert (if enabled).
