Introduction

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the ARMOR 4 device using the 2-wire (+/-) adapter, designed for a straightforward connection to a standard 12V battery. This method simplifies the installation process, requiring only a connection to the battery terminals.

 What You Will Need

- ARMOR 4 Device

- 2-Wire (+/-) Adapter (included with your ARMOR 4 kit)

- Standard 12V battery

 Installation Steps

Preparing for Installation

1. Ensure Safety: Before starting the installation, make sure the vehicle or equipment is turned off to avoid any electrical hazards.

2. Locate the 12V Battery: Identify the 12V battery where the ARMOR 4 device will be installed. This is typically found under the hood of vehicles or in a designated compartment in equipment.

Connecting the 2-Wire Adapter

3. Identify the Adapter Wires: The 2-wire adapter comes with one positive (+) red wire and one negative (-) black wire. These will be connected to the corresponding battery terminals.

4. Connect the Positive Wire:

   - Locate the positive (+) terminal on your 12V battery, usually marked with a plus sign (+) and/or covered by a red cap.

   - Attach the red wire from the 2-wire adapter to the positive terminal. If necessary, loosen the terminal bolt, place the wire connector beneath it, and then retighten securely.

5. Connect the Negative Wire:

   - Locate the negative (-) terminal on your 12V battery, typically marked with a minus sign (-) and/or covered by a black cap.

   - Attach the black wire from the 2-wire adapter to the negative terminal using the same method described for the positive wire.

Finalizing the Installation

6. Secure the ARMOR 4 Device: Once the wires are connected, find a suitable location near the battery to place your ARMOR 4 device. Use the provided mounting accessories (bracket/tape) or secure the device in a position where it won't interfere with any moving parts or heat sources.

7. Test the Connection:

   - Turn on the vehicle or equipment to provide power to the ARMOR 4 device.

   - Observe the LED indicators on the ARMOR 4 device to ensure it powers on correctly:

  • Green fast means looking for a cell signal.
  • Green slow means connected to a cell signal
  • Red fast means searching
  • Red slow means found GPS

8. Verify Device Operation: Once the ARMOR 4 device shows a slow green blinking light, indicating a successful cellular connection, you can verify its operational status through ARMOR Installation Verification site.

(Note) Installation successful if 3 green check marks are shown

 Troubleshooting

- No Power Indicator: Ensure both wires are securely connected to the correct battery terminals and that there is no corrosion on the connections.

- Red LED Indicator: Check the connection to the battery for any loose wires or incorrect connections. Consult the ARMOR 4 device manual for specific LED indicator meanings and troubleshooting steps.

 Conclusion

Your ARMOR 4 device is now successfully installed and connected to your standard 12V battery. This installation method allows for a seamless integration of the ARMOR 4 device into your vehicle or equipment, enabling advanced monitoring and management capabilities.
